What if I miss a dose of tirzepatide?
If you miss a weekly tirzepatide dose, general guidance for the brand-name product is to take it as soon as possible if it is within about 4 days (96 hours) of the missed dose; if more time has passed, skip it and resume on your regular day. Never take two doses close together to catch up. Always follow your physician's specific instructions.
The general rule
Tirzepatide is dosed once weekly. If you remember within roughly 4 days, take the missed dose and keep your usual schedule. If it has been longer, skip the missed dose entirely and take your next dose on the normal day.
You can also shift your regular dosing day as long as it has been at least 3 days (72 hours) since your last dose — confirm timing changes with your physician.
Do not double up
Taking two doses close together increases the risk of nausea, vomiting, and other side effects without improving results. When in doubt, contact your physician before injecting.
