What is TrumpRx.gov and how does it work?
TrumpRx.gov is a federal drug-pricing website launched in February 2026 that shows discounted cash prices on certain brand-name medications and points patients to where they can buy them. It does not sell or ship drugs itself and does not require an account — it is a price-comparison and referral hub for cash-paying patients. You still need a valid prescription, and the discounted prices apply only when you pay cash, not through insurance.
What TrumpRx is — and isn't
TrumpRx.gov is a government portal that displays manufacturer cash prices for a limited set of brand-name drugs and links you out to the manufacturer's own direct-to-consumer channel to complete the purchase. It is built on pricing technology similar to consumer coupon tools. It is not a pharmacy, not an insurer, and it does not dispense or mail medication.
At launch the platform listed a few dozen brand-name medications, including several GLP-1 products for weight management and diabetes. Because it lists brand-name drugs only, the discounts are measured against high manufacturer list prices.
How you actually use it
You (or your physician) still need a valid U.S. prescription. On the site you look up a covered brand-name drug, see the cash price, and follow the link to the manufacturer's direct program to place your order. Payment goes to that program, not to TrumpRx.
GOAL.MD fits in by handling the medical side: a licensed physician evaluates you, determines whether a brand-name GLP-1 is appropriate, and sends the prescription to the correct manufacturer pharmacy so you can use these cash prices.
Important limits
TrumpRx pricing is for cash-paying patients only. It generally does not work with Medicare, Medicaid, or commercial insurance, and cash purchases usually do not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. Prices are set by the manufacturers and can change without notice.
