Where do you inject semaglutide?

Semaglutide is injected under the skin (subcutaneously) into the abdomen (avoiding the area right around the navel), the front of the thigh, or the back of the upper arm. Rotate injection sites each week to avoid irritation. Your physician or care team will show you the proper technique; always use a new, sterile needle and follow their instructions.

Approved injection areas

The most common sites are the abdomen (at least a couple of inches away from the belly button), the front of the thighs, and the back of the upper arms. These areas have subcutaneous fat that allows for proper absorption.

Good injection habits

Rotate sites weekly to prevent lumps and irritation, clean the skin first, use a fresh sterile needle every time, and dispose of needles in a sharps container. Your GOAL.MD care team provides guidance and support so you feel confident self-injecting.
